Dear Students:
The 2024 tax year will end in December. It is time to prepare your 2024 tax return.
The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 allows certain taxpayers who pay qualified tuition and related expenses
to an eligible educational institution to claim an American Opportunity Credit or a Lifetime Learning
Credit against their federal income tax liability.

W-9s Form:
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires the university to report certain information concerning your
status as a student on an IRS tax statement form 1098-T. In order to properly prepare and submit the tax
statement, your correct U.S. tax identification number—either a U.S. Social Security Number (SSN) or
U.S. Tax Identification Number (TIN) is required
For U.S. Citizen or Resident Students:
During the last week of January 2025, U.S. citizen or resident alien students will be sent a Tuition Statement
(1098-T). The information provided on this statement is for the period between January 1, 2024 and
December 31, 2024. This document will be mailed to your permanent mailing address on Mywuv database.
Your social security number and current address must be on filed the W-9s form no later than
December 31, 2024.
For International Students:
The Tuition Statement (1098-T) form will NOT be issued to our International Students, unless requested by the student. An International Student considered a Non-Resident Alien (NRA) for income tax purposes is not eligible for the various educational tax credits and/or deductions. The IRS therefore does not require 91Ó°ÊÓ to issue Form 1098-T to International Students.
If international student need 1098-T form,
Your social security number and current address must be on filed the W-9s form no later than December 31, 2024 for your request every year.
